Once I received the correct size I found the vest comfortable to wear, though it can get quite warm on a summers day. I'm 5'10" with a 40" waist and 34" waist and found the XL size to be a good fit. To me, the WEIGHT is critical, as my (HWK) jackets weigh 5 pounds and 3 pounds (ventilated for Summer). The vest seems able to take QUITE a smack ... and distribute the force over a broad area (of the torso). I particularly like that the rear protection extends down to one's tailbone - over the small of one's back. Thanks to the (VERY) adjustable straps, I can wear it either inside or outside an armored jacket or shirt. NICE lightweight protective vest.
